I havnt properly introduced my new DSLR camera.
It is a Sony A300.  I got it at Circut City at a pretty good price, all the other big electronics stores wernt even selling it (at the time).  I bought it right before I went to the Delorean Car Show in June 2008.
It is pretty much is like all the other DSLRs, its 10MP, takes a CF card, stuff like that. But my favorite thing about my camera is its tilt-able viewfinder.  Many, many times I took photos low or high using …

Holy crap, I happened upon the greatest blog! They point out…obviously, Photoshop disasters. Found in ads, posters, catalogs, almost anywhere. Some of them are just horrible, and I find it hard to believe that any art director would let the images go out like that. Some of them are so bad, Im wondering if its a joke. Either way, this blog is quite entertaining.

I was in LA a couple weeks ago (for the closing of the BTTF ride), I was there for 5 days. And while I was there, I literally walked around with my digital camera in my hand, and I took photo after photo. I took over 4 GB of photos when I was there. But managed to come up with 39 good ones of LA, and 23 photos of the Back to the Future Ride, and added them to my flickr account.
I love the plants there, they are so …

Artscape is Baltimore art and music festival that happens every year. Its free, its crowded, the food is overpriced, and sometimes it can be fun. This year was my third time making it over. To me, the real title of Artscape is “PigoutOnOverpricedFoodAndMakeFunofStuffInTheSun
AndMaybeThereIsSomeArtAroundOrYouCouldListenToMusic”
But this year, as I was walking around, I saw the booth of Vladimir Ovtcharov, and I fell in love with the paintings.

Sure it would have been nice to be able to drop $5,000 on an original painting, but not all of …

This is really cool:
http://www.callipygian.com/3D/makeanaglyph.html
The program is a free download, and you have to take two photos, add them to the program, adjust settings and Ta-Da! Your very own red-cyan 3d image. This is something I have been wanting to do for years and years and pathetically tried to on Photoshop, but it didnt really work.

This is so friggen cool, upload an image and watch as it is made up of hundreds of other smaller images. Its best to upload a large image for web, and not a large image for print, for the program takes the image and makes it a little larger to allow the smaller photos to be visible.  Of course I wanted to see what my image for “Project X” looked like all mosaic out.

I had somehow stumbled upon this page with someone who made a simple chart with the letters of the alphabet, as well as an image. Sure it seemed basic enough, but I looked at the comments, and someone went through each image, listing the various interpretations of the photo. That surprised me, for its true that different people can view an image a totally different way. For example: The letter “A” and a photo of an apple. What if someone saw that apple and thought of …

Blow into a Nintendo cartridge and your game will work. Back in the 80’s, a friend of mine told me this, and I too started to do it. Im sure it made things wose, what with your breath/spittle getting into the cartridge, but for some reason, the games really did work after doing that. I love that there is this design on a shirt, its perfect.

So Im into tribe.net, and I often check and post to the web design tribe. The moderator mentioned that he wanted a new image for the tribe. Of course I could have not bothered, but honestly Im so tired of working on web sites, that I needed to do work on something different for a change. So I pulled this image together last night, and even though it isn’t as detailed as I would have liked, this was all I had time for, since I have a deadline …

Ive been working on a new site, and there isnt alot of imagery, so I was trying to think of ways to make rectangles a little more interesting.
I dont know if they are trendy or played out, but I like the look of the rounded/bubble/plastic rectangles. But I didnt want to spend the time making each reflection one at a time and by hand. I was looking online for something free and fast and easy to achieve the look.
And I found it: http://www.my-photoshop.com/bydesign/id-tutorials/gel-tab-navigation.html
It exactly what I was …

I came across this Flickr dicsussion page, downloaded the two Photoshop scripts and took them for a spin. Oh man, is it ever fun to pick a photo of mine, and set the script in motion, and watch it transform before my eyes.

I finished my design for the trade show. It has been approved by the powers that be, they love the design, it is exactly what they wanted.
It just needs to be printed out.
I was flipping through my issue of “Dynamic Graphics” magazine, bought in May, I didnt even remember I had this. I see an ad for http://ablestock.com/. Ah ha! Thats where the gigantic images are!
Well, now I know this for next time.

I just got back from my long weekend in Montreal, Canada. No only was this my first road trip in my “new” car, but it was also the first time I took my new digital camera out into the battle field. I got a Samsung DigiMax S500 at Target for only $140, and it worked out pretty well.
I love that it has the mode dial on top, but even better is that it displays the modes on the screen as well, when you are turning the dial…which helps …

A man had contacted someone I kind of work for, asking about resizing 300 photos so that he can upload them to his website. We figured that an FTP account would be set up, he could upload them to the specified location, I download them, resize them quickly using the automated function in Photoshop, and then upload them back online. I wondered if FTP might be too complicated for someone to be able to understand, and gave him a call.
This guy had a lot of difficulty hearing …
