About Me
Personal Stuff
I grew up in the awesome land of Waterford, CT. And while I could never see myself go back to living there again, it was a great place to grow up. I then moved (in the middle of my Junior year in high school by the way) to Northern Virginia and then three years after that I moved to the suburbs of Baltimore, MD which is where I live now.
I have one pet; a very fat kitty. I have one laptop, one tower computer, two external hard drives, two SD cards for my digital camera, one DSLR camera, two trackball mouses, two TVs and one dual recording DVR. I go everywhere with my digital camera in my purse, I feel bad when I leave the house with out it.
I live on my laptop, being on it all day at work, and all night when I go home. But aside from that, I watch a whole lot of tv while I am also on the laptop. I cant help but have to do two things at once. And what kind of TV do I watch? The crappy kind, for the worst/stupider the show, the easier to tune out when you have something else to concentrate on.
Professional Stuff
Taught myself basic HTML in the late 90s, started out using Paint Shop Pro 5 for graphics, not the best but I tried. got Photoshop in 2000 and then began to create website after website. My early sites were personal, something or someone that I felt strongly about and felt to make a site to express. It was my odd little art form.Everything I worked on for three years was personal projects. Earned an internship at The Canton Group in Baltimore, MD. Thats where I made the transition to working on sites for clients. Was there for two and a half years, and loved it so much. Thats when I realized thats designing is what I really want to do.
I tried freelancing for a while, working at three different jobs the same week for a while. Then I got a full time job…and then they laid me off after 10 months because the company wasnt making much money. Grr.
